Hepatitis virus infections concern people all over the world. According to estimates by the World Health Organisation (WHO, 2019), 71 million people are chronically infected with HCV. In 2016, the WHO published a Global Health Sector Strategy for the elimination of viral hepatitis. One important pillar of the program is to make treatment and diagnostics accessible and affordable for people in need. Approximately 260 million individuals worldwide are chronically infected with HBV, with highest prevalence in the WHO Western Pacific Region and the WHO African Region. Drugs like tenofovir or entecavir are recommended for treatment. However, these substances only suppress viral replication. As a result, lifelong treatment is necessary for individuals with HBV infection, and regular monitoring (after 4 weeks, 12 weeks and every 3-6 months) via quantitative real-time PCR should be carried out.
The integration of viral nucleic acid extraction onto robotic systems to develop a flexible automated workflow allows laboratories of different sizes to optimize their workflow while keeping flexibility in scaling up.
With this web seminar “Optimized Workflow – Flexible & Reliable Quantification of Hepatits C and B Viruses” we can support our customers to easily implement Hepatitis viral load monitoring and offer reliable sensitive quantitation results to their clinicians.
- Flexible solutions for viral load determination in field of Hepatitis
- Performance assessment data for HCV RNA and HBV DNA
Target group: Laboratory personnel looking to improve flexibility and result quality in their quantitative Hepatitis nucleic acid analysis or just want to implement such analyses.
